Unjust Punishment

"When his master heard the story his wife told him—“These are the things your slave did to me”—he was furious and had (Joseph) thrown into prison, where the king’s prisoners were confined. So Joseph was there in prison. But the Lord was with Joseph and extended kindness to him." - Genesis 39:19-21

Sometimes life is just plain unfair. Through no fault of his own, Joseph was sold into slavery and then imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. In dark situations, it is important for us to remember that God does not abandon us when times get tough. The Psalmist reminds us "The Lord is near the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18
